These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of NorthLab Folders, the NorthLab Apps Chrome extension for ChatGPT and Claude (the "Extension"), and the website northlabapps.com (the "Site"), operated by NorthLab Apps ("we", "us"). By installing the Extension or purchasing a plan, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
The Extension adds folders, cross-chat search, and Markdown/JSON export to chatgpt.com and claude.ai. It processes conversation content locally in your browser; our optional cloud sync stores only folder names and conversation IDs, as described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Plans and billing
- Free — up to 3 folders, no payment or account required.
- Pro Monthly — $4.99 per month, billed monthly until you cancel. You can cancel anytime and keep Pro access through the end of your current billing period.
- Pro Lifetime — a one-time payment ($59 launch price) granting Pro access for the life of the product. "Lifetime" means the operating life of the Extension, not your lifetime or ours.
All purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record for your transaction and handles payment processing, sales tax/VAT, invoicing, and refund execution under its own terms. Prices may change; changes never apply retroactively to a Lifetime purchase, and subscription price changes take effect only at your next renewal after notice.
3. Refunds and cancellation
All paid plans include a 14-day money-back guarantee, described in our Refund Policy. You can cancel a Pro Monthly subscription at any time from your Lemon Squeezy customer portal (linked in your purchase receipt) or by emailing us.
4. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Extension for your own use on devices you control. One Pro license covers one person across their devices. You may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, or offer the Extension as a service to third parties.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, modify, or create derivative works of the Extension, except where permitted by law.
- Use the Extension to violate the terms of service of OpenAI, Anthropic, or any other platform.
- Circumvent license checks or share Pro credentials beyond your own use.
- Use the Extension in any unlawful manner.
6. Third-party platforms
The Extension operates on top of ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Claude (Anthropic). We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI or Anthropic. Those platforms may change their interfaces at any time, which can temporarily break Extension features until we ship an update. We work to restore compatibility quickly but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation of features that depend on third-party sites.
7. Your data
You retain all rights to your conversations and exports. We claim no ownership over any content you organize or export with the Extension. Our handling of data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Extension and Site are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Extension will be error-free or uninterrupted.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NorthLab Apps will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of the Extension or Site. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or $10 if you use only the free tier). Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including statutory consumer rights in your country of residence.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms (for example, license abuse). If we permanently discontinue the product, we will provide at least 90 days' notice to Lifetime customers, and the Extension's local features will continue to work for as long as the browser platform allows.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, give notice on the Site or in the Extension. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which NorthLab Apps is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
