The sidebar deletes chats one at a time; everything more powerful — delete all, delete by date range, auto-delete — lives in Google's My Activity page. Here's every method with exact steps, plus the setting that makes chats "mysteriously" vanish and how to get them back.

## Delete a single Gemini chat

1. In the Gemini web app, find the conversation in the **Recent** list in the left sidebar.
2. Hover over it and click the **three-dot menu**.
3. Choose **Delete** and confirm.

That's the only deletion the sidebar offers. No checkboxes, no multi-select, no "select all" — if you have forty chats to remove, the sidebar wants forty confirmations.
